The pathThree moves

The long way here.

Era 01 / 031998 — 2007

Inside the enterprise.

The first decade was spent inside the enterprise — on implementation teams and client sites, building the kinds of systems he now gets called in to repair. It is where the working method was set: understand the business before the platform, and treat the seams between systems as the real project.

Era 02 / 032007

Out on his own.

In 2007 he founded Inotek Consulting Group and went independent. The model has not changed since: one senior consultant, direct with every client. No account managers, no hand-offs — when a project needs more hands, trusted specialists work alongside him, never instead of him.

Era 03 / 032007 — Today

The record years.

The books had already started — fifteen of them between 2006 and 2018 — along with the MSDN Magazine years and bylines in Entrepreneur, ComputerWorld, CMSWire, and SD Times. The client list, meanwhile, stopped turning over: most stay for years, several are past the decade mark. Hundreds of implementations planned, built, and repaired.

The record2006 — today

25+ years of the Microsoft stack.

Fifteen books and four MSDN Magazine features, plotted the year they shipped. Selected project work continues the line after the books. Walk it left to right — it is the evolution of the Microsoft integration stack, BizTalk to Azure, with the manual written at each step. The line keeps going.

How he worksSince 1998

Direct, by design.

Direct
Every engagement is with Mark — scoping, architecture, build, and support. When the work calls for more hands, trusted specialists join alongside him; nobody is ever handed off.
Remote
From Colorado, with teams anywhere. Much of the work arrives already started — the stalled migration, the half-built rollout, the integration nobody owns.
Long-haul
Most clients stay for years; several are past the decade mark. That's the quiet payoff of the model — when the same person plans, builds, and repairs a system, there's never a reason to start over.
